Whenever an interior designer starts to decorate a house, they need to keep in mind of course-the architecture but also what the homeowners like in terms of style and colors. A lot many homeowners love clear and light colors, pink being a very favored shade. It depends whether you want a pure baby pink or you go for a bolder and darker shade of pink such as a coral or magenta to avoid your room from becoming extremely feminine, you need to add other accessories to keep. To use pink in your home decoration it is quite important not to go overboard and to deter the very lady like color from grabbing all the attention by adding some contrasting shades such as white, black, blue and brown. Also using a mixture of fabrics will create a lovely mix and match pattern that entices the onlooker to notice the minute details of your well loved decor. In your typical suburban family home, pink can be incorporated in your preferred style in many ways. Take for instance the living room, pink couches do look quite aesthetically pleasing. But with pink being such an obvious centerpiece, you can either work around it such, that you keep the entire theme cohesive by using complementary and harmonizing colors. Take for instance a pick couch. Soft pastel pink majestically positioned in the centre of your lounge, looking regal yet so comfortable, try to add some deep yellow to counteract the candyland look, a rug with strong geometric patterns with a mixture of pink, yellow, black and white, oak wood flooring, oak wood centre table would make your room look a lot more interesting and eye catching. Add a yellow lamp or a pendant light and a pink and white wall paper behind the pink couch. White curtains will keep the room light and large throughout. Play with your colors to break the monotony. At the same time try using colors which agree with each other and not overcrowd the room. For instance taking pink and red together would make the room look too feminine. It is a nice idea for an apartment, that belongs to a lady.but for a house or a family home, you need to think about others as well. If you decide to add colors and accents in the form of chairs, lights, decorative items or rugs, keep the curtains plain. This not only provides a blank canvas for you to to work freely but also keeps the color and decor from going out of hands and go from chic to cheap. It is vital you plan your color schemes and style of decor very thoughtfully, pink looks good in all sorts of styles especially the old school type of decoration. In another example, to decorate a corner or a nook, use a baby pink relaxing chair, on a white background, add some pink artwork in the back ground making sure it's not too bright or bold so as to steal the limelight from the actual corner itself, flamingos are a perfect addition to this concoction, they are pink and they are attractive! Get some flamingo decorative pieces or a cushion with flamingos. To enhance the nook all the while making it look more detailed, add a green plant in the picture. Again use some black and white in the form of cushions for the chair, the plant pot or a stylish corner table.instead of boring old square frames go for something innovative, use some embroidery hoops or some pentagon or hexagon shaped frames for your art work. Keep it simple and minimal to make just the right features of this Little heaven stand out. Using the same pink and green combination for a lounge, add some brown and mustard color to the picture, it could be in form of the rugs or some artwork o the wall behind the couch. You can even make you own easy artwork playing with all the colors you used in the decoration of your room. Again make the couch your focal point in the room and then work your way around it. The goal is to make pink feel at ease and not stick out like a sore thumb! While green color highlights the pretty pink shade of your couch, mustard shade blends in beautifully with pink and make it look soft and appealing. Another idea in the living room would be to clash opposing colors in a subtle way so as to enhance the overall look of the room. For instance with a pink couch and accessories tr adding some light blue easy chairs and cushions. It would add so many dimensions to your decor and add that charm to the room at the same time. Again use a rug with geometric patterns and keep it simple with black and white being the other two main colors besides pink and blue so that it doesn't look like a wild forest of ideas clashing and cancelling each other. Buy the cushions in pretty geometric patterns, they should be in black, blue grey and mustard. Some small blue and white tables will make the room look cute and bright. Add a brass lamp to complete the look. Overall this gives the feel of a relaxed laid back kind of a family living room instead of uptight heavy sofas and the heaviness of velvet in curtains and fabrics. Pink is a beautiful color to experiment with. Its calm, its friendly and its cheerful. The effect of this shade is no doubt very uplifting in a boring and dull room; with our guidelines you would be able to accommodate this beautiful shade in your house without making it look like something from Barbie's cartoons, not that it's a bad thing but i guess the Barbie theme is more suited for a girly girl's apartment or a little girl's bedroom.
